business activity description
Kunststoff-und Farben-GmbH (KFG for short) was founded in 1973 by Albert Geipert, who had studied at the chemical engineering college in Darmstadt and worked in the plastics industry for several years. After the KFG was founded, the production of special 2-component acrylic glass adhesives began in rented premises in Biebesheim.
In 1978, KFG built a production hall with an office in the Biebesheim industrial area. In addition, full thermal insulation systems, facade paints and plastic plasters were manufactured.
The recycling of acrylic glass began in 1980. Around 30 long-term employees now produce up to 2,000 tons per year of ground material for depolymerization and 3,000 tons per year of chemically defined acrylic fines for acrylic ceramics (kitchen sinks and decorative panels), for BMC molding compounds, as a pore former for grinding wheels and as a blasting agent for the aircraft industry. The products are exported worldwide.
The neighboring properties at Flurscheide 7 were purchased and additional production halls were built in several construction phases over the years. More than a dozen grinding plants and extruders are now available for processing.
The underground tank facilities were expanded to 150 tons for the production of liquid methacrylate resins, such as coating resins, laminating resins for carbon fiber reinforced orthopedic parts, MMA-PU coating compounds, membranes for motorway bridges, etc.
